Second label of Chateau Lascombes.

The Winery

Château Lascombes, a Margaux ranked Second Growth in the 1855 classification, bears the name of its first owner, Chevalier de Lascombes, born in 1625. At the turn of the 18th century, Jean-Francois Lascombes, a councillor at the Bordeaux Parliament, dedicated his wealth to making a great wine at Lascombes. The existing chateau was built in 1867 by Chaix D'Est Ange. Alexis Lichine took over the property in 1952. He completely restructured Chateau Lascombes and renovated the vineyard and cellars, giving this large vineyard new life. In 1971, he sold everything to the English brewer, Bass-Charrington. Since its purchase in April 2001 by Colony Capital, a new era has begun for this property.

The Chateau Lascombes vineyard stretches over eighty-four hectares within the Margaux appellation. The present varietal distribution is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.

Chateau Lascombes
$89.00
This is still a bit compact, but has juicy black cherry and plum notes lined with a briar hint, while sweet tobacco and singed juniper accents gild the subtly long finish. Best from 2021 through 2029.– WS89
Chateau Cheval Blanc
$1,610.00
One of my favorite Cheval Blancs, it remains to be seen if the 1998, 2000, and 2008 will live up to this offering. It is the ripest wine of the aforementioned vintages, with a complex bouquet of tobacco leaf,...

Bodegas Los Astrales
$60.00 $73.00
The harmonious 2015 Astrales manages to keep the poise in a warmer year, within the profile of the zone and house style, which is generously oaked and powerful but in search of elegance and balance. 70,000 bottles...
Caymus
$295.00
The bouquet is dark and serious, with brooding black-cherry, leather and cedar aromas. In the mouth, flavors of black plums, mint-menthol and tobacco—all with a foresty accent—fill the palate. On the heavy side of...
Salvioni
$258.00
From Giulio Salvioni’s La Cerbaiola estate, the 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is a fantastic wine with an impressive degree of darkness and broad aromas of Indian spice and ripe fruit. The 2008 Brunello presents a more...

Bodega Numanthia

Woody aromas of maple and raw oak shroud core berry aromas. This wine is edgy on the palate, with tomatoey acidity and choppy tannins. Flavors of plum and tomato come with vanilla and oak accents. It hollows out on...
Tenuta San Guido
$570.00
A rich, black cherry– and black currant–flavored red, accented by cedar, wild herb and spice notes, this is supple and vibrant, with a lingering aftertaste of fruit and an emerging mineral element. Firms up nicely on...
