Robert Groffier Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019

With a rich family history that extends over four generations, Domaine Robert Groffier Père & Fils is a producer based out of the Morey-Saint-Denis commune in Burgundy. Although most of their fruit comes from vineyard plots in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, the domaine uses much of their 17 estate acres in the grand cru vineyards of Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin Clos-de- Bèze. Founded in the early 19th Century by Frédéric Groffier, most of the parcels were quickly acquired by his son, Jules Groffier, by the 1930s. Robert was the next successor, and was the first person in the domain to begin bottling the wines, and in 2005 was joined by his son, Nicolas. The wines have continued to be produced to an admirable standard, and help the family legacy live on through the sensuality and finesse in their products.
