Slightly more evident wood serves as the backdrop for the even spicier aromas that include notes of Asian-style tea, violet, plum and both red and dark raspberry. The rich, generously proportioned and succulent flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract while offering lovely depth and length on the balanced finale. This is a lovely villages and the natural class of Vosne is evident. - BH89 ~ 91
The domaine was established in 1988 when the parents of Anne-Françoise, Jean and Jeanine Gros of Vosne-Romanée decided to let go of a few parcels of the family domaine (The domaine was initially known under the names of Gros-Renaudot, then Louis Gros, and after inheritance, Jean Gros).
At the same time Anne-Françoise aquired a domaine in Flagey-Échezeaux, and later with her husband, François Parent, purchased a vineyard in Savigny-les-Beaune.
Shortly thereafter, François added to the domaine his own vineyards in Pommard that he inherited from his family. Being the 13th generation of winemakers, he continues to aquire knowledge and techniques that enable him to vinify his wines so that they express the typicity and complexity of the aromas of the Pinot Noir.
Together they decided to unite the two domaines and install in Beaune the caves, cuverie and buildings.
